So said the Replacements to their producer when they switched instruments and recorded the raucous album opener, “Hootenanny,” when he asked if they wanted to try it again, a bit cleaner.
And so it goes for this blog; one take, no regrets, no looking back. Of course, the Replacements got more polished as their career went on, and hell, it could happen here. For now, though, this is going to be some rough, perhaps sloppy, and certainly not “professional” talk about music. I’m just a fan, like any of you, and I want to talk about the music that means a lot to me.
